Murray State University Admissions
Applications to the undergraduate programs have an application fee of $25. In addition to the application form and fee, students must provide high school transcripts, ACT scores, and any additional documents required to verify residency. Applications can be submitted on-line. Students must have completed four years of English, three of mathematics, three of sciences, three of a combination of history, economics, government, world geography, or world civilization, one unit of history and appreciation of visual performing arts, one half unit of health, one half unit of physical education, and seven units of electives. Students who also are in the top half of their graduating class or have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and have an ACT composite score of 18 or above will be admitted. Other students may be admitted provisionally.
Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application, fee, and official transcripts. The GRE is required for some programs, and the GMAT is required for the MBA. Students must also a baccalaureate degree, a minimum GPA of 2.25, and approval from their department. A graduate application has an application fee of $25.
Murray State bases admission eligibility on completion of pre-college curriculum and other academic factors. Applicants must rank in the top half of the high school graduating class or achieve a high school grade point average of 3.00, and achieve a score of 18 or above on the ACT. If an applicant meets all of these criteria they will be admitted unconditionally. Students who meet some of these criteria but not all may be admitted with conditions, and may be held to course load minimums until completing a mandated number of prerequisite and general studies courses.
